THE UNREMEMBERED GIRL

Standard

This may have been one of the hardest reads I have ever done. It sure had lots of emotion. Lots of things going on. It had tragedy, love, loss, sadness, humor(a bit), cruelty, just to name a few.

I cried reading this story so much that right now my eyes are burning. The last part was just so sad and I do think Henry cared. I think he loved Eve with all of his heart. He wanted to bad to fix her. He didn’t want her to be broken. He wanted them to be a family.

Yes he made mistakes but isn’t that what makes us human? Yes he did pay a high price but at some points don’t we all? I truly think we do. I think Henry loved Eve and Eve loved Henry. She went through to much trauma to ever get over it. Even possibly with professional help she may have remained the broken girl she was born to be. He life was a tragedy from day one. I felt so sorry for her. I felt so sorry for Henry and even for Del and Alice.

All of their lives were changed because of the cruel meanness that is in some people. To buy and sell lives is beyond contemptible. Human trafficking is something that is real. It exists and needs to be stopped. In the end Del tried. He tried to do the right thing. Henry tried to do the right thing too. Life is hard at times and when things happen that we have no control over, no voice, no objection too, it’s way harder. We all have the right to say NO! No one has the right to do things to us that we don’t want. Humans are cruel people at times and at the same time can be the most kind hearted, caring, loving you ever see. It’s what makes us human. It’s what makes up this world.

This book touched a part of me that I can not explain. Deep in my soul. In my heart. I feel for people who have no voice to be heard. I wish everyone who read this would get the same message out of it that I did. Life would sure be a lot easier for the ones we hurt or ones who are hurt by others.

I reacieved a copy of this from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

I gave it 4 stars. Would have been 5 but it hurt my heart to much. Maybe that is not a good reason but it’s all I have. Thank you for the honor of reading this story. I won’t soon be forgetting it that’s for sure.

One Wrong Turn, by Deanna Lynn Sletten

What a story. This was a very touching and emotional book. It had me from the start and I could not put it down. A car accident that almost broke a family apart pulled them together. A family who love each other even more than they know.

Clay, a recovering alcoholic, came home as soon as he got word that his wife was in the hospital after a car wreck. She was in a coma. Clay and their daughters, Maddie and Jilly, would not give up hope that she would find her way back to them. Maddie had lots of anger for her dad and with good reason. But he was determined to win back her love and faith in him. Jilly, a carefree little girl who saw the best in their dad and never gave up hope that her mom would be ok and come back home.

This book was so good. It made me laugh, get angry and boy the tears. They just flowed. Especially toward the end. I can’t say why or I would give away some good parts of this book. Just read it. Trust me, it’s wonderful. A beautiful story that touched me deep down inside. I loved it and look forward to reading more by this author.

I had to give this one a 5 star rating for sure.

I recieved a copy from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. It was one touching story for sure.

Review of “I’M WITH YOU” By Taylor Dean

The excerpt from this book says: Can three little words irrevocably change your life?

When the doctors inform Chloe Brennan that her pregnancy is “incompatible with life,” her subsequent choices will change her path forever.

She becomes one of the quiet, unsung heroes of this world, incredibly strong, yet somehow wrongly looked upon as damaged.

Three people will pierce Chloe’s existence: her husband, a stranger, and a precious baby.

One will say goodbye, one will say hello, and one will say both at the same time.

I’m With You is a novel about selfless love and the sacredness of life.

This book touched me in so many ways. It is a wonderful book dealing with a loss that is greater than anyone should ever have to endure. Everyone deals with loss in different ways, but the grief of losing a baby is so deep, so painful, so consuming and so misunderstood.
It shows the sadness of deep loss and grieving and being alone to deal with it. Everyone expects Chloe to move on, forget about it, get a life. She can’t and no one understands, not even her husband Mark. She wanted this baby more than anything. Even if she could only hold him for 5 minutes. Her husband, who was the love of her life, walks out on her. He can’t deal with her grieving anymore. It tells what happens to one woman dealing with all of these feelings and more; and how one friendship helps her to see that she’s not broken.
It is a story that will touch you in ways that you’ll never forget. Make you laugh, cry, get angry and love to hate some of the characters. Jack whose wife ran off with Mark, starts getting to know Chloe and sees that she is grieving and he is very worried about her. When they start getting to know each other she finally confides in him in ways that she has not been able to with anyone else.
It’s a love story, a story of both hope and lost hope. A wonderful story that will keep you turning the pages to find out what will happen next.
You would have to be a robot not to feel what is happening in this book. All the ups and downs. The new loves and lost loves. Who will be able to fall in love again. Will Chloe take Mark back or will she move on with her life now that she has finally learned how to live again. What will happen to Jack. Will his wife be able to get him to forgive him and love her again?
You can bet that once you start this book you will not be able to put it down. It is told in a way that makes you feel like you are right there with each character, dealing with the emotions they are. It will definitely make you cry, it did me. Some parts made me cry so hard but it was worth it. If you can’t feel the characters then it is not a good book and this one pulls you in from beginning to end. You will be laughing one minute, crying the next and wanting to punch someone in the end. It is a wonderful book that was written from the heart. This author did a fantastic job of portraying feelings that were real.
My favorite book of all time and will stay with me for a long time to come if not forever.
It is a 5 star read no doubt about it. I hope you will love it as much as I did, even through the tears.. There was romance, love and laughter too so not just a book that will keep you down. It is wonderful and be sure to read the last few pages at the end of the book. They explain so so much.

The Poppy Fields (Book 2) Eternity Bound

This is the 2nd book of the Poppy Fields series and boy was it every good. A love story, a real tear jerker and very intense.

I fell in love with Emily and James in the first book and also in this one. In the first one Emily and James had stopped seeing each other and that was so awful. After all they both had gone through I didn’t think anything could or would ever come between them again. But I did understand, in a way, James’s reasons for pulling away from everyone he loved. Although I think if he had given it more thought he would and should have handled things way differently.

Mark, who Emily thought was a good friend, was in love with Emily and would do “anything” to make her fall for him. James knew what Mark was up to but Emily didn’t believe it. She thought James was just to emotional over a loss and took it out on Mark. I personally did not like Mark at all.

There are wonderful, sweet and very loving parts in this book that will grab you by the heart and not let go. There will be two births and one death. Will it be one of the babies or one of the mothers? What will happen between Emily and Mark? Between Emily and James? Will love win out in the end or will someone end up hurt beyond forgiveness?

This is a series that will keep you wanting more and wondering what can possibly happen next between the two people that love each other more than life itself. There is no way to read this book without feeling very emotional. If you can you just don’t get into books the way you are meant too. It was done with so much love, sadness, happiness and much more.

I loved this book and now can’t wait for the 3rd book to come out. I would give just about anything to have it right now so I can see what will happen next. The waiting will be hard but well worth it. I assure you that you will love this series very much. It deals quite a bit about the Military, soldiers who are hurt in combat and James working with the wounded soldiers both in the UK and on the battle fields in Afghanistan. Emily does a lot of charity work for the wounded soldiers and their families also and that is what brought them together in the first book and made their love so strong.

The one person that I didn’t like in the first book, Naomi, is very likable in this book. She does everything in her power to get Emily to forgive James and work things out.

I give this book a 5 star rating and it is worth it. Now if only the 3rd book would hurry up and come out. It’s due in July, but I don’t know if I can wait that long. lol 🙂

D G Torrens is a wonderful author and each book I read by her is better than the one before. A wonderful author with a great talent with words. You don’t want to miss this series..
